This online learning platform provides access to a vast selection of video courses in business, technology, and creative skills through on-demand, expert-led content.
Using the search engine on the homepage, type in the title or author of the item you’d like to place on Hold. The search engine defaults to searching the catalog of the library’s collection. The results page will load. Find the correct format (print, audiobook, etc.) and then click on the Place Hold button. You will need to log into My Account with your library card number and password. Complete the instructed actions to finalize your Hold request.
Sometimes a print book is not owned by any of the 18 Bucks County public libraries. In this case, we may be able to request an Interlibrary Loan (ILL). The Interlibrary Loan process obtains a print item (must be at least 6 months since its publication) from a library outside of the county system. The loan period for these books is two (2) weeks. Library users can access a myriad of online research and learning databases, downloadable e-books, e-audiobooks, digital newspapers and magazines, as well as streaming movies, TV shows, and music. For a complete list of options, please head to our E-Resources page. These E-resources will require some combination of a library card, PIN, and/or email address.
All Bucks County residents with library cards have access to cloudLibrary and Hoopla apps for e-books and e-audiobooks. Hoopla also contains streaming movies, TV shows, music, and comic books. All you need is your library card and PIN for access. You can download the apps to your mobile devices or use via the web on your laptop/desktop computers.
Free Library of Northampton Township also provides access to Libby for Northampton Township residents only. Libby can be used on your Kindle e-readers as well as on tablets and phones. Your library card and PIN are required.
The library has 8 Hotspots available for a loan period of one (1) week. Library users may borrow a Hotspot no more than six (6) times per calendar year. For additional requirements and information, please head to our WiFi Hotspots page.
The library offers various programs for life-long learning each month. Many are educational while others are for entertainment or how to do a craft. Additionally, throughout the year, we offer a variety computer classes and our archivist provides a series of genealogy classes as well. In partnership with the nonprofit Welcoming the Stranger, English as a Second Language (ESL) and Citizenship classes are hosted at the library. Registration is required for the library programs. Registration for each program opens approximately one (1) month in advance of the scheduled date. You can register online from our website, by phone, or in person.
The library offers a Book A Librarian service if you need one-on-one help accessing our e-resources or with technology assistance. Please head to our Calendar to register for an appointment.
